Cricket Host The website your cricket club actually deserves

Play-Cricket keeps the record. Cricket Host runs your club’s home — fixtures, squads, sponsors, newsletters, and custom forms in one place your committee can run without a webmaster.

Try the full platform free first — public site, admin, and player portal in our live demo. Signup is month-to-month rolling when your committee is ready.

Why Cricket Host

Play-Cricket is the record. This is your club’s home.

One professional website for players, parents, sponsors and the committee — built in-house for UK cricket, not bolted onto a generic template.

More professional

Your own domain, club colours, sponsor tiers and player sponsorship — not an ECB shell or a Facebook feed.

Less admin

Fixtures and results sync from Play-Cricket. Publish rain call-offs, news and newsletters from one guided admin.

All in one place

Hosting, deployment, page builder, forms, gallery, shop and member comms — managed on your club’s own Cricket Host instance.

Before

  • Play-Cricket page + Facebook + WhatsApp
  • Fixtures lost in the feed
  • Sponsors buried in posts
  • One volunteer holds the passwords

After Cricket Host

  • One link for everything important
  • Play-Cricket data stays in sync
  • Sponsor & player sponsorship pages
  • Committee roles, invites & backups

Compare your options

Why not just use what you have already?

Most clubs juggle a free Play-Cricket page, social media and maybe an old DIY site. Here is how Cricket Host fits.

What committees ask Play-Cricket / Facebook / DIY Cricket Host
Official fixtures & results Play-Cricket yes; Facebook manual; DIY manual Synced from Play-Cricket
Club-branded public site Basic / social feed / depends on volunteer Full themes + page builder
Player-level sponsors Limited or none Profiles, tiers & listings
Built-in newsletter Separate tool or none Campaigns, tags, double opt-in
Custom forms on your site Plugins or external links Designed & hosted in admin
Try before you pay Free tiers exist elsewhere Full live demo — site + admin + portal
Ads on your club pages Varies by platform Never on Cricket Host

Also comparing Pitchero or Teamo? They bundle club apps and membership tools. Cricket Host focuses on the best club website you control — explore the demo and decide what fits your committee.

Built in, not bolted on

Everything runs on your club’s Cricket Host platform

No WordPress plugin stack. No scattered third-party form builders. Hosting, deployment, data and day-to-day club content are managed in one in-house system.

Built-in newsletter

Member lists with tags, double opt-in for PECR, and campaign composer — sent through your club’s email (SMTP). Not a shared marketing mailbox.

Custom forms, designed on your site

Build enquiry, membership and event forms in admin, place them on any page, and export submissions to CSV — all hosted on your club site.

Player-level sponsorship

Sell and showcase sponsors at club and individual player level — profiles, logos, links and searchable listings sponsors actually want.

In-house hosting & data

Your club runs on its own Cricket Host instance — HTTPS, updates, roles, downloadable backups and export on cancellation. You manage your content; we keep the platform running.

Play-Cricket widgets & call-offs

Fixtures, results, standings, squads and match-day alerts — plus a breaking-news and match call-off strip when play is off.

Club shop & player portal

Kit and fundraising checkout, plus a member portal for profile updates — without handing every job to one exhausted volunteer.

Live demo — try everything first

No signup needed. Explore the real platform.

Most providers show screenshots or a sales call. Cricket Host gives you a fully working demo — public website, admin panel and player portal — so your committee can see exactly what they are getting before anyone pays.

Hosted demo uses sample data (Save/Publish disabled). Your live club connects real Play-Cricket and your own domain after signup.

Five-minute committee tour

  1. Browse the public site — fixtures, sponsors, governance, shop
  2. Open admin — page builder, squads, newsletter, forms
  3. See player sponsorship and sponsor tiers on the demo site
  4. Try the player portal sample login workflow
  5. When satisfied — month-to-month signup, no long tie-in

Pricing

£45/month — your complete club website platform

Explore the live demo first at no cost. When you sign up, hosting is a month-to-month rolling subscription (or prepay annually if you prefer).

No separate hosting bill, no WordPress maintenance, no plugin stack. One platform built and deployed in-house for cricket clubs.

FAQ

Straight answers

Common questions from secretaries, chairs, and the one person who “looks after the website”.

Cricket Host gives you a fully working demo — public site, admin and player portal — with no signup or card required. When your committee is ready, hosting is a month-to-month rolling subscription, so you are not locked into a long upfront commitment.

Play-Cricket is the official cricket record — keep it for fixtures, results and registration. Cricket Host adds a professional club home on your own domain: sponsor tiers, player sponsorship, newsletters, custom forms, shop, governance pages and a page builder — with Play-Cricket data synced in.

Pitchero and Teamo bundle club apps, membership and payments with their websites. Cricket Host is website-first: deeper page builder, built-in newsletter and custom forms, player-level sponsors, governance hub, and no ads — with Play-Cricket sync. If your priority is the best public club site you control, explore the demo and compare.

No. Committee members use a guided admin: pages, news, squads, forms, and backups. If you want us to build or migrate content for you, that is optional webmaster time at £20/hour.

Primarily yes — Cricket Host is built for UK cricket clubs that use the ECB Play-Cricket API for fixtures, results and standings. Clubs outside the UK can still take hosting and use the full website toolkit (pages, squads, news, shop, forms, etc.); automatic Play-Cricket sync simply isn’t available without an ECB club.

Yes. Bring your own domain at £0/month with a DNS checklist, or register a new domain with Cricket Host at signup (quoted price in Stripe Checkout; we manage DNS). Staging sites may use a Cricket Host subdomain; paying clubs get real club domains.

You connect your own SMTP (club mailbox, Microsoft 365, Gmail with an app password, Zoho paid SMTP, or a bulk relay such as Brevo). Contact forms, invites, and newsletters use those credentials. Marketing newsletters to members need explicit, freely given consent under PECR — the platform supports double opt-in. We provide the controls and guidance — not a shared free mailbox.

Hosting and platform faults — site down, HTTPS issues on our side. Use Admin → Hosting support & billing (in-app tickets); we aim to reply to non-urgent tickets within 2 UK business days. Restoring your club data after a data disaster is your responsibility: regularly download backups from Admin → Backup & restore and keep them offline. Cricket Host does not offer per-club data restore from infrastructure snapshots. Content changes, training, and Play-Cricket setup coaching are self-serve or paid webmaster help.

Either party may end on 30 days’ written notice (see Terms). In good standing you get a 14-day self-serve export window. You must download Admin backups regularly and store them offline — Cricket Host will not restore your club data after a data disaster.

No. Accounting is a separate advisory pathway. The website plan is hosting and software. For CASC/CIC structure questions, start with our linked guide on Faraday Keynes.

  • Player fines, team shouts (hero exempt), match fees and payments
  • JSON backup, optional auto-save to a file, up to 10 browser snapshots
  • Who-owes poster, PDF, spreadsheet — nothing uploaded to Cricket Host

Data stays on this device. Download a JSON backup after busy match days — a PDF cannot restore the ledger.
